Lipotrophin PM

The idea behind Lipotrophin PM is pretty genius, a nighttime metabolic booster that actually claims to burn fat while you sleep.  While most diet pills energize your body making sleep difficult, Lipotrophin PM asserts that by using a stimulant free formula a deeper, more restful sleep can be achieved while increasing your body’s natural fat-burning hormones.  Lipotrophin PM is said to work best when used with Lipotrophin AM during the day.  However, for those buyers who do not like the jittery energy that many diet supplements produce, Lipotrophin PM can be used during the day as well.

Lipotropin PM Ingredients

Lipotrophin PM consists of a proprietary blend of:

  • Green Tea
  • Mucana Pruriens
  • Bacopa Monnieri
  • Banaba Extract

Lipotrophin PM Side Effects

Most of the ingredients in Lipotrophin PM have never been formally researched or studied on humans.  However, some bad side effects have been reported from these herbs and supplements that compose Lipotrophin PM. The green tea that is in the supplements should be taken cautiously. While green tea is a very common ingredient in diet pills, it has been known to cause irritability, insomnia, heart palpitations, and dizziness.  Also, because of the high level of L-dopa, a form of dopamine that mucana pruriens contains, a more peaceful sleep may be attained.  However, this L-dopa has been reported to cause intestinal distress and a befuddled state of mind in humans if taken in large enough quantities. Bacopa monnieri, a supplement that supports brain function, has been also known to cause gastrointestinal problems, an excessive dryness of mouth and fatigue. And lastly, Banaba Extract, an herb used to control blood sugar and helps make those nighttime cravings disappear has no known side effects.

I would be cautious about taking Lipotrophin PM.  The bottle lists the ingredients as a proprietary blend and therefore does not tell the consumer how much of each ingredient is actually in the pill.  This is especially worrisome because of the lack of research on many of these ingredients.  Often times the higher quality, more effective ingredients are in such small amounts that they really do not work.  I wish that Lipotrophin PM was more specific in its ingredient ratios.

Does Lipotrophin PM Work Well Enough to Buy?

Applied Nutriceuticals, the manufacturer of Lipotrophin PM is selling this diet pill on its official website for the price of $26.99 for 120 capsules which converts to be about a 60 day supply.  They also offer a 30 day money back guarantee.  This guarantee is not great, as it would be hard to know if the product was working in such a limited amount of time.  While the claim Lipotrophin PM makes is appealing, a fat burning metabolic supplement that helps the user achieve a more peaceful, deep sleep, many of the main ingredients, with the exception of green tea, have never been formally studied or researched on humans.  To me, there doesn’t seem to be enough evidence to indicate that the supplement actually works, especially for weight loss.
