Wanna get skinny?
Most of us do.
For the last decade one popular way has been the HCG diet. In my neighborhood alone I know eight women and two men that have tried it.
Most of them have loved the results.
They went to HCG clinics or to their physician though, where they were given shots and carefully monitored.
And all HCG diets come with a LOW calorie diet plan (Tru HCG recommends 1,000 calories a day and offers a diet plan on their website.)
I am leery of over-the-counter HCG products you can purchase over the web. They may be cheaper, but are they quality? And are you receiving the correct dose?
For those of you who still don’t know what HCG is (and if so, where on earth have you been?), it is abbreviated for Human Chorionic Gonadotropin. This is a natural hormone produced in high quantities in pregnant women so the fetus receives the nutrients it needs.
HCG triggers your hypothalamus to mobilize stored fat into the bloodstream for ‘food.’
Seems a bit cannibalistic–after all–you’re eating yourself.
I like it.
While using your stubborn, stored fat, HCG also protects lean muscle which is often compromised in low calorie diets.
The question is, will an over-the-counter like Tru HCG get the job done as effectively as prescription-strength HCG?
Tru HCG Ingredients
Tru HGC contains the following two ingredients in undisclosed quantities. And you’re supposed to take the manufacturer’s word for it that you’re getting enough.
I don’t buy it (and won’t buy it.)
But I’m a doubting Thomasina.
* HCG-when supplemented with a low-calorie diet will trick your body into releasing fat stored from hard-to-reach areas into your blood stream to be used up as food and energy.
* L-Carnitine-is apparently the only compound that transports fat into the mitochondria–the part of the cell that burns it off. It occurs naturally in meat and dairy. You know you’re low in it if you’re often fatigued, cannot concentrate and are steadily gaining weight.
Tru HCG Side Effects
Tru HCG is supposedly side-effect free. You should always consult your physician before starting a low calorie diet and HCG program however.
Tru Derma even tell you this–so why wouldn’t you pursue this dieting course through your doctor–if you’re going there anyway?
You will feel hungry being on any HCG diet, although some people claim the fat in their bloodstream sustains them adequately. Expect hunger pains, weakness, fatigue and dizziness for at least the first few days.
Does Tru HCG Work Well Enough to Buy?
For $79.99 plus shipping I’d have to say it’s a risk. With a diet plan as serious as HCG I personally would find the best clinic–or go to my doctor for the shots.
Then I’d receive regular, face-to-face council.
500-1000 calorie diet plans are a severe change for your body, and adding a hormone like HCG is serious enough (for me anyway) to be monitored by a health professional.
The lack of dosage quantity in Tru HCG makes me leery too.
Tru Derma does have a 30-day money-back guarantee on partcially used bottles if Tru HCG doesn’t work for you–or isn’t for you.
Just remember, any HCG diet certainly isn’t for the weak or faint-hearted.
Only for the Hard Core with Gonads…
